Beauty Academy for sale: For sale
In what appears to be the biggest ever sale, beauty academy owner Aimee Filippi and her family have sold their Beverly Hills, Calif.-based beauty school for $4.8 million.
The Filippis announced the sale in a press release Friday, adding they’re now “focused on creating a new family of students and a new vision.”
Filippini is the sister of actress Anna Faris, who played the role of Princess Leia in the 2014 blockbuster “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
She also has a long history with the cosmetics industry, having opened the first beauty salon in Los Angeles in the 1960s.
“The sale of our Beverly Hills Beauty Academy, as well as all our assets, is a massive milestone for our company and for our community,” said Filippino in the press release.
“We are so proud of the quality of our students and our community and we are committed to the future of our children and the children of tomorrow.”
Fannis said in the release that she’s excited to take on the next chapter of her family’s legacy.
“I am incredibly proud of our school’s legacy and look forward to the new opportunity that lies ahead for our students,” she said.
The school’s beauty school has sold for more than $6.5 million since 2009, and Filippisi said it has sold more than 30,000 products.
She said the school will focus on expanding its offerings.
“As we continue to grow, we are confident that our products will continue to be available to students and their families,” she added.
